Water Ski Coaching Accreditation – Level 1 Certification

The NSW Water Ski Federation offers coaching courses designed to fulfill the Sport-Specific requirements for becoming a Level 1 Certified Water Ski Coach. This certification is issued by the Australian Sports Commission as part of the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS).

Pathway to Accreditation

To become an accredited Level 1 Water Ski Coach, candidates must complete the following three components:

  1. General Principles
  2. Sport-Specific Training (covered in this course)
  3. Practical Coaching Experience

Upcoming Sport-Specific Coaching Course

This course covers the Sport-Specific component of the Level 1 accreditation.

Eligibility & Pre-Requisites

Before enrolling in the Sport-Specific Coaching Course, candidates must have completed:

  • Beginning Coaching General Principles Course (Available online for free at Australian Sports Learning Centre. Select “Courses” and enroll in “Beginning Coaching General Principles”)
  • NSW Working with Children Check (Must be completed in advance)

Additional Requirements for Level 1 Accreditation

In addition to completing the Sport-Specific course, candidates must also:

  • Successfully complete and submit the course workbook (provided during the course)
  • Complete 16 hours of supervised practical coaching
