IWWF WORLD BAREFOOT OPEN, JUNIORS AND UNDER 23 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Auburndale Championship Event Lake, Auburndale, USA 5th to the 12th October 2024

The barefooter, officials, families and friends who attended the IWWF World Barefoot Open, Juniors and Under 23 Championships managed to survive Hurricane Milton, and results were reached in all divisions and final placings declared.

A special shout out to the organisers, officials and team members. Amid all the fear for everyone’s welfare and dealing with the impact of this horrible weather event, the decision makers have made excellent decisions. The camaraderie of the Barefooting community rose to these unbelievable challenges and kept everyone safe.

I am so glad that although the championships could not be completed due to the impact of Hurricane Milton, many attendees remained to complete all social events of the LOA.

Pete O’Neil was his “Energiser Battery Bunny” self – always reaching out to help everyone.

What a nightmare for the LOC members!

Brian Price , John O’Neil, Geoff and Lyn Blaauw once again shone brightly when difficult decisions needed to be made quickly.

Congratulations to all athletes who not only endured the stress of a World Championships but have survived this horrendous weather event – Hurricane Milton.
