NSW Water Ski Federation is looking to fill the role of Director on the Board of Directors.

NSW Water Ski Federation
Type: Volunteer (Unpaid)
Term: As per Constitution (typically 1–3 years)
Reports to: President and the Board collectively

Position Overview:
The Board Member is responsible for contributing to the strategic direction, governance, and oversight of the NSW Water Ski Federation. As a member of the Board of Directors, you will uphold the Federation’s vision, values, and objectives while ensuring compliance with all legal and financial obligations. This is a voluntary position requiring a commitment to attending meetings, engaging in committee work, and supporting the Federation’s mission to grow and promote water skiing in NSW.

 
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the development and review of the Federation’s strategic plans, policies, and performance.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, governance frameworks, and the Federation’s Constitution.
Provide informed and constructive input on strategic initiatives, major decisions, and future direction.
Contribute to risk identification and management.
Act in the best interests of the Federation at all times.
Understand financial reports and ensure appropriate financial oversight, including approving budgets and monitoring expenditure.
Advocacy & Promotion
Represent and promote the Federation within the water skiing and broader community.
Champion initiatives that enhance participation, inclusion, and access across NSW.
Maintain positive relationships with members, clubs, councils, and external stakeholders.
Committee Participation

Key Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated interest or experience in water skiing, community sport, or related fields.
Previous board, committee, or governance experience (desirable but not essential).
Strong communication and decision-making skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully within a team.
Commitment to the Federation’s values, including integrity, inclusivity, and respect.
 
Additional Information:
Board meetings are held approximately 6–8 times per year online
Board Members are expected to comply with the Federation’s Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest Policy, and other governance documents.
This is a voluntary role; however, reasonable out-of-pocket expenses may be reimbursed in line with the Federation’s policies.
